Johnny Depp, then busy with many filming schedules for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ was only married for 18 months to Amber Heard. The 58-year-old actor recalled how he and Heard maintained a sort of routine that was new for him.
He spoke in the court, summarizing their marriage life and the point at which he felt like it was changing. Depp told the judge, “I worked quite a lot, and when I came home from work, I’d come in the house, and she’d sit me down and give me a glass of wine and take my boots off and set them to the side.”
“I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life. I never experienced that, and it became a regular thing, kind of routine.”
“One night I came home, and she was on the phone; I took my boots off, suddenly Miss Heard approached with this look on her face, she just said what did you just do? What did you do?” Depp reiterated the question he received, to which he tried to clarify with the 35-year-old actress.
She told him that he’d just taken his boot off, and Depp still couldn’t quite under
“No, no, no, that’s my job. You don’t do that; I do that,” his ex-wife stated. “Let me get you a glass of w!ne.”
Depp’s lawsuit against Heard was for a Washington Post op-ed written by Heard herself that implied he had been ab*sing her ph*sically. The actor, who lost a libel case against The Sun that called him a ‘wife b3ater,’ sues $50 million against the mom-of-one.
On the other side, Heard is countersuing for $100 million because Depp called him a liar. But the beginning of their relationship was the complete opposite of the situation right now. Depp recalled the time they worked together on the set for ‘The Rum Diary’ to be “too good to be true.”
“She was attentive; she was loving, she was smart, she was funny, she was understanding. We had many things in common, certainly blues music, literature. For that year, or year and a half, it was amazing.”
“From the beginning of our relationship for a good year and a half, she was wonderful, and then things just started to change, or things started to reveal themselves, is a better way to put it.”
He recalled feeling “something he shouldn’t be feeling” for her after their kissing scene in the movie before she went to his trailer to kiss again. The actor, who’s known for his issues with dr*g ab*se, claimed that Heard had exaggerated the situation.
“The characterization of my ‘substance ab*se’ that’s been delivered by Miss Heard is grossly embellished, and I’m sorry to say, but a lot of it is just plainly false,” the man spoke under oath.
“It was an easy target for her to h!t because once you’ve trusted somebody for a certain amount of years and you’ve told them all the secrets of your life, that information can be used against you, especially if it’s taken to a point that’s teetering on impossible, teetered over impossible, in fact, at times.”
“I am not some maniac who needs to be high or loaded all the time,” Depp continued. “In fact, before – and in – Australia, I’d been off of alc*hol for about 18 months.”
Despite that, he admitted that he’d “done all the dr*gs I was aware of” by the age of 15 and started as young as 11 with his mother’s nerve tablets, a coping mechanism he used to deal with the ab*se he received from his mother. He said, “Can’t say I’m proud of admitting that.”

In a testimony listened to at the Virginia court on Monday, Johnny Depp’s security guard Sean Bett has described taking photos of the actor as evidence after Heard allegedly ass4ulted him. The first ab*se happened in March 2015, and Bett insisted Depp had a swollen ch33kbone and ey3lid.
As the proof was shown to the jury, Bett stated: “[Depp] needed it as evidence in case Ms. Heard tried to make allegations. I was emphatic that’s a serious mark.”
The second fight happened in December 2015. Bett revealed they got into an argument, and Heard scratched Depp, p0inting to his nose. “He had scratch marks around his nose area. On one of the sides of his face and the cheek area.” The court was shown three other photos; the first showed a laceration on the left side of Depp’s nose and a red scratch mark on the forehead, while the 2nd showed scratch marks on the right-hand side.
The third photo showed a scr4tch on the lower right part of the chin. However, Depp, 58, had appeared in court in a sleek ponytail and wore dark shades. Heard, 35, rocked blond curls swept to the side and a black suit.
On April 21, 2016, Bett claimed he heard another blow up on Heard’s birthday because Depp was late when a meeting overran. As Depp arrived, Bett said Heard had a look that could tell she was upset and added that at some point, they had another argument, where she str*ck him in the face. To this, Judge Penney Azcarate ordered the testimony be str*ck from the record as it was hearsay.
Furthermore, Bett [pictured] recalled an incident around 2012 or 2013 when Heard made disparaging comments about men to a friend and described how the couple went from being loving to arguing all the time.
However, it was alleged the night in May 2016 was the final confrontation between Depp and Heard at their penthouse before they divorced. Bett shared he and Jerry Judge, an ex-employee of Depp, had heard the screaming and shouting coming from Heard while they waited outside. But as it became louder, they rushed inside only to find that Heard had a look of surprise on her face, and Depp looked confused.
A testimony given by Depp’s former private doctor David Kipper has somewhat complicated the whole situation. In his deposition recorded, Kipper claimed he received two texts from Depp in 2015, in which the actor admitted he infl!cted a gruesome injury himself. The court also heard an account where he allegedly r!pped off Heard’s nightgown, gr0ped her br3asts, and str4ngled her neck.
Kipper explained he instantly rushed to the house right after the finger incident and saw broken glass and bl00d on the floor, but no bl00d on the glass.
He then testified the actor also informed the doctors at the emergency room in Australia that he had c*t his finger with a kn!fe.
Kipper didn’t say anything about a br0ken bottle in his notes but insisted that Depp had texted him after the incident, for which he ultimately needed to get surg3ry. He claimed Depp had said in the text: “I c*t the top of my middle finger off. What should I do?? Except, of course, go to a hospital. I’m so embarrassed for jumping into anything with her. F**K The WORLD!!!JD.”
Kipper further said Depp again texted him more than a week after his emergency visit.
This time around, he was appreciative, saying: “Thank you for everything. I have ch*pped off my left middle finger as a reminder that I should never c*t my finger off again!! I love you, brother. Johnny.” The texts were read aloud in the London courtroom as part of the proceedings of the battle against the British newspaper The Sun over a 2018 article that described Depp as a wife b*ater.
In another testimony that contradicts David Kipper, Johnny Depp’s ex-nurse, Debbie Lloyd recalled the time she had to search a torn-up home in Australia for the tip of the actor’s severed finger. In her testimony, Lloyd said she arrived at the house where Depp was staying amid filming “Pirates of the Caribbean” only to find a smashed-up TV and writing on the walls.
It has been widely believed that Heard had injured Depp during a f!ght. Lloyd is well-aware of such occurrences, especially as she had traveled with the then-couple in March 2015 and was even part of the team helping to treat Depp’s opioid add*ction. Lloyd said in her video, played at the court that: “I have heard that Amber thr3w a b0ttle of V0dka at him. I have heard that he had sl4mmed it with a phone.”
Lloyd stated the house manager found Depp’s fingertip and brought it to the hospital. She then recalled hearing different stories about what led to the p4inful injury.
So far, Heard has denied the allegations she threw a vodka bottle at him, and indeed, what transpired that night remains known between the exes.
